Baking with a cup of Joe

Recipe


Equipment

  • Stand mixer with paddle attachment

  • angel food cake pan

Prep Time: 30 minutes


Bake Time: 4-50 minutes


Ingredients:


Cake Batter:

  • ½ cup butter

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 tsp vanilla


Filling

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ cup white sugar

  • 1 cup chopped nuts (toasting optional! We used walnuts)


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 325

2. Beat Butter and sugar together until creamy.

3. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each

4. Sift dry ingredients together

5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and sour cream into butter and sugar mixture. Beating after each addition. Start and end with dry ingredients.

6. Add vanilla

7. Put half of the batter into the pan

8. Sprinkle with half the filling

9. Add remaining batter

10. Sprinkle with remaining filling

11. Bake 40 to 50 minutes
