As American as apple pie... or is it?

With this bake Ashely creates a recipe from two of our aunts and shares with us the history of apple pies!

One Crust Apple Pie

Ingredients

• 6 cups sliced apples in a pastry lined pie pan

• Pastry (optional)

• 3/4 cup sugar

• 4 tablespoons flour

• 1/4 tsp salt

• 1/2 tsp cinnamon

• 1 cup heavy cream

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees

2. Line pie pan with pastry (is using)

3. Slices apples

4. Mix together sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, and heavy cream

5. Pour mix over apples

6. Sprinkle a little extra cinnamon sugar on top of pie

7. Bake 50 - 60 min

If omitting the pie crust serve with vanilla ice cream.
